JK Math in 2026 (Update)

Jan 19, 2026

Happy New Year!

Tomorrow I will be returning and begin easing back into a regular upload schedule of new tutorial videos for Youtube, but I first wanted to take a moment to share with you my overarching goal and rough plans for this year.

In 2026 my main goal is to finally complete my Calculus 3 series! It's been a long time coming... I first started the course in late 2023, took a break from it for most of 2024, and then worked on it consistently last year, ending with the completion of the 3rd unit on Multivariable Functions.

But now, starting very soon I will be beginning the 4th unit of the course on Multiple Integration. Then once that unit is finished, I'll move right into the 5th and final unit on Vector Analysis, which includes line integrals, surface integrals, etc. In total, I am currently estimating that there is a little more than 30 lessons yet to make to cover these final two units, and I intend to make all of them this year. If all goes well, I am hoping to have the course completed by late Summer of this year (ideally August).

However, in order to fully focus on Calculus 3 and finish it as soon as possible, I will be putting new Algebra videos on hold until further notice. I started Algebra last year alongside Calculus 3 videos, but that was really just to help supplement my goal of increasing the volume of new videos that I uploaded in the year (internally I challenged myself to create and upload at least 100 videos last year. I ended up making 111!).

This year I am not focusing on reaching a certain number of videos uploaded, instead I just want to complete Calculus 3 at the bare minimum. So that's the plan for the foreseeable future. Once Calc 3 is finished I do not have anything set in stone for what's next, although I imagine I will return to making Algebra videos for a little bit until I decide on the next higher-level math course to cover. But that is several months in the future at this point, so I don't want to get too far ahead of myself. I'll most likely make a new blog post following Calc 3's completion to update you once I've decided what is next.

Also, I have an exciting secondary project in the works to announce: A Final Exam Review video for Calculus 2! Over the last year and a half or so, Calculus 2 has become my most popular video series by far, so it felt right to revisit the course and make a final exam review for it, similar to what I made for Financial Mathematics in the past (and its just a final exam review, no individual unit review videos for now).

The video will feature 15 review problems, with 15 more review problems that will be exclusive to my memberships site (total of 30 problems).

The good news is that the video has been fully recorded since December 2025, but the less-good news is that there is still a lot for me to edit before the video is done (the raw video file for all 30 problems was 12 hours long. I'm working on trimming it to ~3 hours for the Youtube video, and a similar total length for the bonus problems for the membership).

The editing is a little over 50% done as of writing this (19/30 problems finished), so I still need to put more work into the video before it's ready to upload on Youtube, while also working on Calc 3. I am aiming to have it uploaded by late March, before Spring finals season kicks into gear in April/May. I hope you look forward to this final exam review! It's shaping up to be one of my biggest videos ever!

That's all for this update. Here's to another great year of studying math!

Until next time,

Josh
